Delivering Steel Structures - Full Seminar

ACSEV is hosting a late afternoon through to evening seminar that is accessible to all our members and guests.  The afternoon and evening technical sessions will be separated by a  networking session and a 2-course dinner.

The afternoon session will focus on light gauge steel framing, in 2 parts.  The first part will cover LGS as a structural material, with an overview of the industry and all applications.  The  second part will cover how a typical LGS project works, including structural and bracing design, and analysis of roof and floor trusses and wall studs.

The evening session will be focussed on steel fabrication, with reference to both AS 4100 & AS/NZS 5131, and will comprise 2 speakers.  A number of areas will be considered including an assessment of construction categories and their implications for quality, inspection and testing, weld selection;  practical detailing for fit-up, access, inspection and buildability, and feedback from fabricators and what they require from engineering drawings, specifications and general notes.

Another practical seminar  aimed to assist our members to produce high quality and practical documentation.
