What is Acsev?
ACSEV is a dedicated group of industry experts from the private sector, government, and academia, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to advancing the field of structural engineering.
We do this by providing technical seminars and workshops, collaborating with universities to undertake research and studies, and actively advocating with governments on technical and regulatory matters.

Through ACSEV, committee members work to create a vibrant community that empowers structural engineers at every career stage, making ACSEV a vital network for structural engineering professionals across Victoria.
Research
ACSEV is actively involved in research and development within the building industry. We hope that by actively contributing to various research projects, that we will assist in keeping the research meaningful and purposeful for our members.
In recent years ACSEV has collaborated on research projects, in conjunction with sister organisations such as Foundation and Footing Society, Victoria. We have provided professional advice, comment and direction to those undertaking research projects, often under the banner of a PHD, at Australian Universities. Typically, our input is provided in kind, by various members of our Association who have specific expertise in the research topic, and occasionally there is a financial commitment as well. In all cases, our dedicated members provide regular overviews of works undertaken and research discovered. Our members may question the direction of a project should tangents need to be made to find the pathway to discovery.
We at ACSEV believe that through involvement in education and CPD, linked with research and development, the construction industry will be a better place. Our engineers will have the latest information to expand their own knowledge and improve designs. Standards might need to be updated based on research findings. Overall, our members are to benefit.

ACSEV Fee Survey
In 2023, a sample of ACSEV members participated in a survey on fee schedules for engineering services. Please note, fees listed are per hour and may exclude GST.
Vehicle costs will be charged at the appropriate RACV scale. ACSEV Members are not bound by this schedule of fees. Clients using the engineering services of ACSEV members can be assured of the highest standard of technical engineering service for their projects.
