Join us for an interesting and informative presentation.

As housing trends shift away from large detached dwellings, the availability of full-length walls for conventional bracing systems is becoming increasingly limited.  Traditional sheet-braced walls are most effective at widths of 900mm or greater to achieve their rated capacities; however at widths of 600mm or less, they are generally no longer viable, prompting the need for alternative solutions.

Historically steel truss braces and portal frames have been the preferred choice for engineers in such situations.  More recently, however, innovative and cost effective timber bracing systems have emerged as competitive alternatives.

Products such as Meyer Timber's meyBRACE and MTB Shear Wall are two examples that have entered the market in the past two years, offering practical solutions where conventional bracing options fall short.

Our guest speaker will present current technical information on these systems including examples of how they can be used in your projects.

To be held at Box Hill Golf Club on Wednesday 15th April 2026.
